It serves as a natural habitat for hundreds of freshwater species like salmon, mussels, crabs, frogs, turtles, freshwater snails, and many more. However, for several decades, the human population has been affecting rivers because of improper and irresponsible disposal of different kinds of waste, causing these rivers to get polluted.
