Hey Erik,

I could use some advice in improving my emails and this post right here helped a lot. I do need to be consistent with my voice. My blog is great as far as the content and value, but I really don't carry this over to my emails. So this is a great reminder of this.

You don't know how many times in the past where I would call someone and they don't remember signing up on my list and why. Keep in my, I think some of them were lying, but other than that, some people within your target audience really don't remember. You definitely want to remind them more often on why they subscribed and the type of content they will receive.

Also to get their attention and a reason to click on your email, you want to be personal with them. Whenever I do this, I get a better CTR. So addressing them by name shows how interested you are in helping them and know that they exist as an individual.
